1991 by Marshall Byers

Filled with buzzing energy hardly able to stay seated on the bus ride home, yes, I jumped from seat to seat talking to all the pretty ladies, or was it more like picking on them.? Being young in love not given a rip about homework, all I really looked forward to was rounding that wooded street corner, and seeing our adopted yellow lab "Girl" waiting for me to get off the school bus. Being greeted by a tail wagging, body wiggle happy dog smile was the best. As the bus zoomed off to the next stop, kid's would peer out the window, only to see the back side of a boy being walked home by his Girl. Treasured memories.
