Chances... by Rory Andes

Chances are that as you read this set of words at this forum, someone wouldn't approve of something you did before this moment.

Chances are that there are a few things in your life others don't approve of. A way of living, a way of thinking, a way of behaving. Something...

Chances are that you may even agree with some of their disapproval, maybe even enough to make changes. Maybe that disapproval motivates you to climb a higher mountain, be bigger, do more.

There's a chance that many of us in prison, and definitely everyone who writes right here, agrees with change like you do. A change for the better. A change for ourselves. A change for our families, our friends, our communities, our world.

But it only works if you, the reader, are willing to take the chance on us. Take the chance of knowing, of connecting, of embracing us. Take a chance to support us as we struggle to find success. A good word, a nudge, a hug.

Take a chance that we may have something to offer you that brings approval of others and could be infectious in all the good, positive and just ways.

Take a chance on us in a way that could help build us up, encourage us, empower us to be bigger, do more.

Take a chance on the incarcerated. It could be the chance of someone's lifetime, maybe even yours
