If you have a Bible, I will be quoting from Jeremiah 30:12-16 (NKJV).
God is talking to His people, the Israelites, here. As Gentiles (non-israelites by birth) we were adopted into fold through Jesus Christ, God isn't just talking to the Jewish people here, He is talking to all of creation:
(v12) "For thus says the Lord: Your affliction is incurable, your wound is severe." (v15) "why do you cry about your affliction? Your sorrow is incurable. Because of the multitude of your iniquities, because your sins have increased, I have done these things to you."
In these passages God is telling His people that their sin is so deep rooted in them that it cannot be cured. He is acknowledging that they cannot be sinless...take a moment and think about what that means. He knows we cannot stop sinning. He knew it long before He created us.
That's why He sent Jesus. Because He knew how powerless we were to change our sinful natures. All He wants is to be our Father. Jesus made that possible, through His blood.
Do your best and always seek to improve, buy you have never gone "too far" for God. He knows you now and He knew what you were going to do before you did it. Its all right, come home. You have at least one brother waiting for you.
With Love
