I do not understand how people, once hearing of a tragedy like what occurred in Texas and Ohio, immediately begin to look for someone or something to blame. Maybe this reaction is our way of trying to make sense of something that is so foreign to our nature as a species. Our media and politicians are not helping.
Almost immediately, fingers were pointed. They were pointed at our President, pointed at racisim, pointed at guns. Objectively, the fingers can only be pointed at the evil actions of two mentally disturbed individuals. Most importantly, this is not a time to point fingers. This is a time to pray for the victims, their families, and our Country. This is a time to come together and support one another. We need to have civil discourse, we need to help or neighbors without being asked. We need our media to focus on the emense good that happens everyday throughout this Nation. Unfortunately, goodness and kindness do not sell newspapers. Maybe that says more about us than what is comfortable.
