Skinny Jeans: The Age Of Androgyny? Everyone has seen skinny jeans. Most usually complain about them until they find out they look great in them. Then it seems like they have joined some sort of fashion cult. Not that everyone looks good in them. I am pretty sure I wouldn't because I have tree trunks for legs. I don't have any negative feelings about skinny jeans. In fact I think that if your happy then I'm happy. This is why I bring them up; because it's a very feminine characteristic to want to show off every curve. I think it's less of an evolutionary characteristic because showing every curve is more recent. But it is traditionally very feminine to accentuate your butt and hips and hug your calves and ankles with skin tight anything. I guess what I like most is that the line between how men *think* and how women *think* is beginning to blur. Not to say that complete thinking equality is what I believe in, but, I do think that you should be able to express a femine side of yourself and not be judged for it. I don't think that painting your nails is solely for women, nor do I think jeans are solely for men. We all have both feminine and masculine traits and when you practice them you should have zero shame in doing so. Maybe skinny jeans aren't for me, but what they are doing silently for our thought processes is for me. I hope that one day I might be able to dress how I want and feel comfortable doing so, I hope that for you as well....for everyone. No one should be made to feel ashamed of how they feel. It can get me into a lot of trouble. Even though it's meant for good, it's perceived by staff as a security risk. thanks for understanding! |
