Men Using Purses, Is It Feminine?
Let me just start by saying that I don't believe it should be an entirely feminine trait to use a purse. My only real problem is the term " murse ". Why does the verbiage have to be masculinized for a man to use it comfortably?
I wanted a purse my whole life. Why do women get stylish, cute little purses that can carry all kinds of stuff? Men get a wallet that carries our ID and money. What the heck! I know that I am a gay man and its somewhat expected that I'll want typically feminine things.
Well I'm Gender Queer and your right. I have an element of feminism in my thinking. My only thing is this, tampons are women's, specifically. I don't think that purses should be in that category.
Out there I will own a purse. And I'm going to look good when I am rock it. I don't know what I'm going to put in it. Maybe some makeup, a coat rack or a tiger. Who knows?
In my mind I am expressing an interest in a product that I have been told by men isn't for me. Well, why not? I have a shoulder, would I be less of a man with a Louis Vuitton as my shopping companion?
What about a dress? Not to pretend to be a woman, but to accentuate my hips? Does THAT mean I'm not a man. I don't want to use the women's restroom, I want to look good with my purse in my dress!
OK, so maybe I'm a bit of a forward thinker, or a total nut job, either way I still enjoy a purse and a dress. I am still very much a man, who still enjoys his parts and is able to express a side of me that is feminine.
Is that truly feminine though, is our genetic makeup done with clothing and accessories in mind? I think not. That's mans rule, and the cool thing about mans rules, we can change them.
With Love
Jeff Utnage, with a purse, maybe a dress!
